The next pot of gold? With Australia’s mining background it should come as no surprise that we are also leaders in extracting water from the sewers that flow beneath us.

Sewer mining can be an attractive from of proving an alternative water source for new developments, golf courses or sports fields, especially where it also helps create additional capacity in an often old and already overloaded sewerage network. By extracting just the liquid phase, treating the water to appropriate reuse standards, and returning all by products back to sewer it can be a cost efficient option as it avoids the high costs often associated with solids treatment.
