Coles Hallam with rare Green Star supermarket

Rnd 2 Building Resilience to Climate Change Grants Closing 4 August 2015

Rnd 2 of the LGNSW Building Resilience to Climate Change program is now open for funding applications for projects that improve the resilience of water supply and/or quality management, or adapting priority infrastructure. Grants are open to NSW local government organisations. Partnerships with other organisations are encouraged. The proposal must respond to a previously identified climate change risk or vulnerability identified through: • A climate change risk assessment meeting ISO 31000 standards, or • A peer reviewed climate change vulnerability assessment. Grants between $15,000 and $80,000 are available for the duration of a project (up to 15 months).

Private Irrigation Infrastructure Operators Program in NSW Round 3 closing 30/4/15

Round 3 of the Private Irrigation Infrastructure Operators Program is now open for applications within the Murray and Murrumbidgee catchment in NSW. The programme aims to assist irrigators in the southern Murray-Darling Basin to modernise their off-farm irrigation infrastructure and return water to the environment. Eligible Areas - NSW Murray and Murrumbidgee river catchments of the Murray-Darling Basin. Closing 30/4/15

Australia's water use highest in years

Australian water consumption peaked at just under 20,000 gigalitres - or 20 billion litres - in 2012-13, the largest water use measured since the start of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) annual water account series in 2008-09. This is up by over a third on 2011-12 consumption which was around 9.5 billion litres.

Funding On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program Round 5

Round 5 of the On-Farm Irrigation Efficiency Program is now open for applications. Closing: 19/03/2015 - 04:00 pm The areas eligible to apply for funding are the NSW Murray, Murrumbidgee, and Lower Darling (south of Menindee Lakes) river catchments of the Southern Basin NSW zone of the Murray-Darling Basin. The Australian Government will work together with the NSW Government, delivery partner organisations and irrigators to deliver a programme to implement on-farm irrigation infrastructure projects.

Water Grant Funds

Councils and water corporations can apply for funding of up to $250,000 to help develop whole-of-water-cycle management plans for localised areas. Water Minister Peter Walsh said the plans were a detailed analysis of a town or area's overall water balance, looking at risks and opportunities in safeguarding water supplies to ensure it remained liveable through future droughts. The Victorian Government has allocated $1.5 million to the new Living Regions initiative. Submissions close 1 December 2014 http://www.livingvictoria.vic.gov.au/
